Fans have long speculated about Adele's relationships, but she has rarely opened up publicly, despite albums like 21 and 30 being hailed for their confessional edge. She also shuns social media, previously admitting her accounts are run by her team.
The news comes after her hugely successful Las Vegas residency, which wrapped earlier this year, and her Munich shows in August. On stage at her final Vegas performance, she hinted at a long break, saying: 'I will not see you for an incredibly long time... I just need a rest.'
