Adam Thomas, known for his roles in Emmerdale and as a winner of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, has revealed he was recently 'robbed' in his local off-licence. The 37-year-old actor shared the story on his podcast At Home With The Thomas Bros, alongside his twin brother Scott and older sibling Ryan.
The Incident at the Off-Licence
Thomas explained that he had popped out to buy sweets for his two children, Teddy (11) and Elsie-Rose (8). When he went to pay, the card machine displayed a charge of £100. 'I was like, bro what are doing? and he went come on you don't need it,' Thomas recounted, referring to the shopkeeper.
The shopkeeper allegedly said, 'You've just come off the jungle bro you don't need it,' referencing Thomas's recent appearance on the reality show. Thomas noted that while he has 'banter' with the shopkeeper, he felt the overcharge was intentional. 'If I ain't of checked he would have taken it,' he said, adding that he looked the shopkeeper 'dead in the eyes' and insisted on a refund.
Money Returned After Confrontation
The star continued: 'He said come on man I need some money, and I said bro, listen I like you and everything but don't take the p*** out of me, give me the money now bro, transfer it back!' Thomas confirmed that he got the money back a few days later but admitted he was 'caught off guard' and 'baffled' by the incident.
Scott Thomas called it 'the maddest story' he's ever heard. The incident comes after Adam Thomas participated in the most controversial series of I'm A Celebrity, an all-stars spin-off where he faced alleged bullying from David Haye.
