The mother of Olympic champion Adam Peaty has been photographed looking dejected, days after reports emerged that she has been banned from her son's upcoming wedding to Holly Ramsay.
A Mother's Heartbreak
Caroline Peaty was seen for the first time since the news broke, appearing downcast while speaking with a friend in Staffordshire. This follows a testing week for the family, with an onlooker noting, "She didn't look happy but what can you expect? It has been a tough week for her and the family and there is no end in sight."
The rift is believed to have started when Caroline was not invited to Holly Ramsay's hen party, an event that featured high-profile guests including Victoria Beckham and Holly's mother, Tana Ramsay. The situation has since escalated dramatically, with claims that Caroline has now been removed from the wedding guest list entirely, just weeks before the Christmas ceremony.
Family Feud Goes Public
The private dispute has spilled onto social media, with family members publicly voicing their sides of the story. Caroline's sister, Louise Williams, claimed the hen do incident left her sibling "heartbroken" and accused Adam of having "said the most vile things a son can say to his mother."
Louise also questioned the behaviour of her nephew, a 'born again Christian', suggesting he was not adhering to his faith's principles. "Where is 'honour thy mother and thy father'? Where is the forgiveness?" she wrote online. She later defended the family's decision to speak out, stating they value "love, friendship, loyalty and being there for each other."
A Bond That Once Was
This public fallout stands in stark contrast to the seemingly warm relationship Caroline once shared with her future daughter-in-law. Only a few months ago, Caroline posted a heartfelt birthday message to Holly on Instagram, writing: "Happy birthday Holly (and Jack), have a wonderful day x We are looking forward to the year ahead and to you officially becoming part of our family x We have shared some wonderful times already and here is to many more x."
Holly responded warmly at the time, commenting "Thank you xx." Caroline's social media also frequently showed pride in her son's swimming career, with a post from February 2024 reading: "Super proud of you Adam x To achieve that time especially when you are not fully tapered is amazing. To see you happy with your swim is so good to see."
A source close to the Peaty family has suggested that Adam may have had his "head turned by the fame and glamour of the Ramsays" since he began dating Holly two years ago, even implying he acts "ashamed" of his working-class roots.
