Olympic champion Adam Peaty reportedly told his father he could attend his wedding to Holly Ramsay, but only under the condition that he sat at the back of the church, away from the main guests.

More than 200 guests, including celebrities like David and Victoria Beckham and Dan Walker, gathered at Bath Abbey in Somerset on Saturday to watch the couple tie the knot. The ceremony took place the day before Peaty's 31st birthday. However, conspicuously absent were most of the swimmer's immediate family, with only his sister, Bethany, in attendance.
His parents, Caroline and Mark Peaty, were not present at the service or the subsequent reception at the Georgian manor house, Kin House, near Chippenham. Caroline had previously expressed her heartbreak, saying the fallout felt like "they have cut my heart out".
Invitation Revelation and Family Anguish
New information has now emerged, revealing that Mark Peaty was, in fact, extended an invitation, but with severe stipulations. A family source told The Sun on Sunday that the swimmer's sister, Beth, relayed a message to their father before Christmas.
"Mark was told he could come and sit at the back of the church," the source disclosed. They described the condition as "awful", adding, "Mark was told he could sit behind plus-ones — who Adam has probably never even seen or spoken to."
The family spent the wedding evening together, with Caroline reportedly becoming upset upon seeing the first photographs from the celebration. The source condemned the situation, stating, "Frankly, it’s disgusting that it went ahead without Adam reaching out to his mum and dad beforehand."
Roots of the Family Conflict
The tensions within the Peaty family are not new. The problems appear to have begun in September 2024, when Adam and Holly did not invite wider family members to their engagement party. The rift widened last month when Caroline was excluded from Holly's hen do at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds, an event attended by the bride's mother, Tana Ramsay, and Victoria Beckham.
Despite the very public estrangement, Caroline Peaty demonstrated a mother's enduring love by sending a card and gift to her son for his 31st birthday on the day after his wedding.
