Adam Peaty married Holly Ramsay on December 27, and new photos from their big day show the truth behind the bitter fallout with his family. The Olympic swimmer reportedly uninvited most of his side of the family, including his 'heartbroken' mother Caroline and father Mark, meaning only his sister Bethany attended as one of Holly's bridesmaids.
Despite the ongoing feud, body language expert Judi James told the Mirror that a group photo from Bath Abbey 'says it all' about Peaty's feelings. 'His back is ramrod straight, and his chest puffed and splayed in a ritual of alpha pride. He looks straight into the camera with a confident stare,' she said, adding that his expression was 'resilient, like a man who has achieved or got exactly what he wanted.'
Holly appeared equally happy, with James observing that she 'turns her torso in towards her husband and her body language signals loving joy.' She also noted that Holly cupped Adam's face in her hands during a kiss, suggesting 'some of his confidence might feed from hers.' Meanwhile, Holly's father Gordon Ramsay looked 'uncharacteristically nervous' in the photos, adopting 'some rather sweetly rigid poses' as he stood protectively near his daughter.
Gordon's speech reportedly included a dig at Adam's absent family. After calling Adam a 'lucky man', he said: 'Shame you don't have the same,' referring to his wife Tana as a good mother.
