Adam Frost Shares Bittersweet Update After Moving House with Family
Adam Frost Emotional Update After Major Family Move

Gardeners' World host Adam Frost has shared a refreshing perspective on moving house, explaining why it doesn't have to feel like such a significant loss. At the end of last year, the BBC star revealed he and his family had moved home once again and has since been giving fans an insight into his renovation journey. While focusing on transforming his new property, Adam recently took a break to revisit his former home, which is now owned by a new couple.

Advice for Gardeners Facing a Move

Sharing a message for anyone facing a similar move, the presenter explained why leaving behind a much-loved garden is a bittersweet experience. He shared: "If you're leaving your house and you've gotta leave the garden that you've loved for a long period of time... if you're like me, I wouldn't worry about it at all, I've done exactly that. We left in October, what have I taken with me?"

"Probably a few little bits I dug and divided, containerised them. And then obviously I took all my pots with me. Outside of that, I haven't bothered," he revealed in a video with BBC Gardeners' World Magazine. "And you know, the beautiful things is, I went back to see the couple that have bought the garden and I walked around with them and they are absolutely loving it. And I think that's a great thing to hold on to, is the fact that maybe you've just left somebody else a whole load of joy."

Previous Health Struggles and Downsizing

It's not known where or why Adam has chosen to relocate this time. However, he has previously spoken about the reasons behind his family's decision to move in 2022. Although they loved their 18th-century farmhouse and its extensive grounds in Lincolnshire, Adam previously explained it "was great when everybody was well." After several members of the family experienced serious health problems, including his wife Sulia who battled sepsis, they decided to downsize to a smaller home with a more manageable garden.

The move allowed the Gardeners' World host to spend more time with his family while easing the physical and emotional demands of maintaining a large property. Adam, who lives with Fibromyalgia, a condition that affects around 2.5 million people in the UK, has spoken openly about managing the illness. While its exact cause remains unknown, a range of treatments can help ease symptoms.

Managing Fibromyalgia and Mental Health

Speaking to us last year, he said of his condition: "The reality is, I'm 20 years on so yeah I've got it, but I deal with it. But, the great thing about making that film is the amount of people that have stopped me and said, 'I've got it, thanks for speaking out'. And I've done something for the charity now and bits and pieces. I manage it through fitness really to be honest, and trying to find a little balance of life, which is not always that easy, but yeah, [I'm] good."

The gardener has also been candid about his struggles with depression, crediting gardening as a therapeutic outlet that has helped him cope. He added: "I think if we all gardened, the world would be a better place. [It's good for your] mental health, physical health, and what's great now is, it's actually being prescribed by the NHS and there's gardens starting to be created in different places, that are either being used by the NHS or they're being run by charities."

Adam appears on Sunday Brunch alongside his podcast co-star Caitlin Moran today from 10am.
