Podcaster and TV host Abbie Chatfield has revealed the dating advice from her mother that she has carried with her for a decade. Speaking in a recent interview, Chatfield recalled her mother's response during a painful breakup: 'Oh, I feel so sorry for him.' When a confused Chatfield questioned this, her mother explained, 'Because he has to live in his head and you get to live in yours.' Chatfield said the advice helps her avoid holding grudges and taking poor treatment personally.
Chatfield also discussed her live show 'Abbie Chatfield Loves Men', naming her partner Adam Hyde, her dog, and musician Bad Bunny among her favourite men. She recounted a chaotic moment from a show in New Zealand, where a woman shared a disturbing dating story involving a partner wearing a wetsuit during sex. After removing the wetsuit, the man peeled a scab from his shin and ate it in front of her. 'I lay on the floor of the stage and screamed,' Chatfield said.
The media personality admitted to struggling with doomscrolling, often spending up to nine hours a day on her phone for work and leisure. To combat this, she keeps National Geographic magazines by her bed and toilet, finding comfort in stories about animals and environmental restoration. She mentioned a tortoise named Jorge that she became 'obsessed with'. Chatfield acknowledged her screen time is 'shameful' but gives herself grace when listening to music with her phone unlocked.
When asked about the last time she lied, Chatfield confessed to praising a sound healing session that she actually found horrifying. 'It gave me a near panic attack... but I told the woman running it that it was a life-changing, amazing experience,' she said. Chatfield described the experience as 'horrifying and made me want to vomit', but attributed her reaction to her own headspace.
