Leah Charles-King Mourns Co-Star Annette Kilgore

Leah Charles-King, a presenter on Channel 4's A Place in the Sun, has expressed her heartbreak after her co-star Annette Kilgore tragically died in the devastating Spanish wildfires. Kilgore, 69, from Cornwall, appeared on the show in 2022 alongside her husband, Malcolm Timbrell, as they searched for a retirement home in Spain.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Charles-King wrote: 'Life is short. Chase the dream. Take the chance. Build the life that makes you happy. For me, A Place in the Sun has never just been about property. It's about helping people take a chance on the life they've always wanted.'

Tribute to a Dream Retirement

Charles-King recalled helping the couple find their retirement home in the mountains of Bedar, Spain, in 2022. 'It was a joy to watch them begin a new chapter together, and from everything I knew, they built a wonderful life there and became part of the local community,' she noted.

'I'm heartbroken that Annette lost her life in the devastating wildfires. My deepest condolences go to Malcolm, Annette's family and friends, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking tragedy. None of us knows what tomorrow will bring. If there's a life you've been dreaming about, don't wait for the perfect time to start living it. Rest in peace, Annette.'

Jasmine Harman Also Pays Respects

Fellow presenter Jasmine Harman also shared an emotional tribute earlier this week. 'Some awful news. You may have seen on the news that Spain has been experiencing some terrible wildfires, and I was so sad to hear of the tragic deaths of several people in Bédar,' she wrote on Tuesday.

'Sending deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones. Especially to Malcom who previously appeared with his wife Annette on A Place in the Sun. I don't really have the words to say how very sorry I am for your loss Malcom. I know we have never met, I can't imagine what you are going through right now. Sending thoughts and prayers.'

The wildfires in Spain have claimed multiple lives, with authorities continuing to battle the blazes. Kilgore's death has deeply affected the A Place in the Sun community, with both presenters urging fans to cherish life and pursue their dreams.
