Harry has previously expressed a desire for his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to learn more about their British heritage. However, a visit to the UK has not been possible due to ongoing security issues. The children last visited the UK in 2022 for the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, which coincided with Lilibet's first birthday.
Speaking about the possibility of Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet visiting the UK next month, a source told PEOPLE that, as things stand, the answer is no. The reason, according to sources, continues to be the unresolved security situation.
The Mail on Sunday reported at the start of 2026 that an official review had found Harry met the criteria for enhanced UK police protection. However, a source close to Harry described the security matter as a "formality" and noted that despite optimistic signals, no decision has been made yet.
Royal Events and Family Dynamics
The news comes as the royal family gathered in London for Trooping the Colour, the historic event marking the monarch's official birthday. As non-working royals, Meghan and Harry have not been invited to this event for several years. Their last appearance at Trooping the Colour was in 2019, just weeks after their son Archie's birth. Archie and Lilibet have never attended Trooping the Colour due to their parents' decision to step back from royal duties.
The security issue remains a sticking point for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have sought a resolution that would allow them to visit the UK safely with their children.
