Rosie Kelly, the daughter of television presenter Lorraine Kelly, has announced her marriage to fiancé Steve White. The couple tied the knot over the weekend, with Rosie sharing the news on Instagram Stories on Tuesday, July 28.
Wedding details
Rosie wrote: “Well we got married... Decompressing in Edinburgh after the most special weekend of our lives – will share more soon but taking the time to just soak it all up.” The pair are now enjoying some downtime in the Scottish capital.
The couple got engaged approximately two years ago. Following the proposal, Rosie shared photos on social media, including a close-up of her engagement ring as she cradled her baby bump. She wrote at the time: “There are too many lovely things going on and I’m not quite sure what to do with myself. Everyone always told me you’ll know when it’s about to happen but I had absolutely no idea, but I have a lifetime to get you back @stevewhite94.”
Family life
The couple welcomed their daughter Billie on August 29, two months after the engagement, making Lorraine Kelly a grandmother. Lorraine has spoken about how becoming a grandmother has been one of the highlights of her life, describing Billie as “my wee sunshine” and saying she doesn’t mind being called Banana instead of Nana.
Lorraine and Rosie co-host a podcast called What If?, where they interview celebrity guests about life’s defining turning points. They have also appeared together on television, including a celebrity version of ITV’s The Cube in 2021 to raise funds for the MS Therapy Centre.
Lorraine’s pride
While Lorraine has not yet commented on her daughter’s wedding, she has frequently expressed pride in Rosie. When accepting a special BAFTA award in May 2024, Lorraine gave a touching shoutout to her daughter. Earlier, when Rosie announced her pregnancy on their podcast, Lorraine shared the news on Instagram with an outpouring of joy: “THE most exciting thing to have ever happened in our family! Cannot wait to be a granny and so proud of Rosie and her Steve. It's the best news EVER!”
Becoming a grandmother has also prompted Lorraine to prioritise family time. She advised others: “Don’t go out with people you don’t like – spend more time babysitting!”
