Vogue Williams has issued a warning over the 'mad' baby name she and Spencer Matthews have chosen for their fourth child. The pregnant presenter, 40, revealed on her podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me that the name is so unusual that even her closest friends were left momentarily speechless.
Warning on the Podcast
'I'm just going to warn everyone, the name we love is f****d. Okay. It's mad,' Vogue said, prompting co-host Joanne McNally to reply, 'Oh God. It's mad.' Joanne added, 'Also, can I just say, Vogue, in your defence, having four kids is f****d. So, like, everything associated with the fourth kid is also going to be away with the fairies.'
Reactions and Speculation
Vogue admitted Joanne's initial reaction made her question the choice. 'That made me go, "Oh it's a big name,"' she explained. Joanne described it as 'the heaviest hitter yet' among the couple's four children. The exchange sparked speculation among listeners about what name could leave Joanne genuinely stunned.
Escape Route
Vogue revealed a plan for an escape route: 'It's such a big first name. We're going to do a normal middle name just in case so the baby can choose.' As someone named Vogue, she understands the risks of standing out. She recalled a family conversation where Spencer's father suggested she go by her middle name, Maria, to which Spencer replied, 'No, Dad. I think she's 33 now.'
Emotional Pregnancy Journey
The baby name debate comes during an emotional pregnancy for Vogue and Spencer. The couple announced in April that they were expecting their fourth child, but later revealed the road to pregnancy had been difficult. Vogue suffered two miscarriages, including a devastating loss last year. She described one experience as 'awful and heartbreaking' and admitted feeling as though her body had failed her.
Speaking about the pregnancy, Spencer said, 'We're so happy. Definitely more bumps in the road in order to actually get pregnant. This one's been harder to get to.'
For now, Vogue is keeping the name under wraps, but she has made it clear that people are likely to have opinions. The couple already have three children: Theodore, Gigi, and Otto.
