A woman who sold a journal on Vinted was convinced it was completely unused, but a message from the buyer after the sale made her burst into tears. The buyer had discovered a personal note hidden inside the pages, leading to an unexpectedly heartwarming exchange.
Hidden Note Discovered
The woman, who shared her story on X, said she was “positive” she had “never written” in the journal, so she sold it without checking its pages. However, after the buyer received the item, they immediately contacted her.
It turned out the woman had written a single note detailing her struggles with anxiety and depression. The buyer’s response was so touching that it brought her to tears. Screenshots of their conversation showed the buyer writing: “Hey, your note was in the journal from March. Have you been okay since the note? As someone who suffers with anxiety and depression, things do get better. Have you spoken with anyone since? And listen, if you ever want a chat or whatever, I know I'm a stranger, but I'm happy to be an ear.”
Kindness Over Refund
Initially mortified, the woman apologised for the mistake and offered the buyer a refund since the journal was used. But the buyer declined, responding: “No, not at all, you're fine. Don't worry. I took out the page! Honestly, though, if you ever need to chat or vent or whatever, I'll be a message away! Don't ever feel like you've got to be alone with those thoughts.”
The woman thanked the buyer and shared the exchange on social media to show that “truly good people” still exist. In her X post, she wrote: “I sold someone a journal on Vinted, which I was positive I'd never written in before, but turns out I had written on one page, and this is what the buyer messaged me. There are truly good people left in the world. I lowkey am mortified because I've no idea what I wrote, but we're all human, I guess. Just wanted to share nice people doing nice things, because what a lovely person.”
