The 2026 Tony Awards saw major wins for Death of a Salesman, which took home Best Revival of a Play, and Ragtime, which won Best Revival of a Musical. John Lithgow and Laurie Metcalf were among the acting winners, with Lithgow winning Best Actor in a Play for Giant and Metcalf winning Best Featured Actress in a Play for Death of a Salesman.
Lesley Manville won Best Actress in a Play for Oedipus, while Alden Ehrenreich took Best Actor in a Play for Becky Shaw. Joshua Henry won Best Actor in a Musical for Ragtime, and Caissie Levy won Best Actress in a Musical for the same production. Shoshana Bean won Best Featured Actress in a Musical for The Lost Boys.
Other winners included Schmigadoon! for Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre. Cats: The Jellicle Ball won Best Direction of a Musical and Best Choreography. The Lost Boys’ Dane Laffrey won Best Scenic Design of a Musical, and Jen Schriever and Michael Arden won Best Lighting Design of a Musical.
Joe Mantello won Best Direction of a Play for Death of a Salesman, and Chloe Lamford won Best Scenic Design of a Play for the same show. Jack Knowles won Best Lighting Design of a Play for Death of a Salesman, and Mikaal Sulaiman won Best Sound Design of a Play for Death of a Salesman.
