Tom Holland's payday for the latest Spider-Man movie could reach $100 million (£73.9 million) thanks to backend bonuses, on top of a base salary of $20 million to $25 million (£14.8m to £18.5m). The British actor's fourth solo outing as Peter Parker, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, has already grossed $2.03 billion (£1.49 billion) worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film of 2026 so far.
A record-breaking release
The movie, released just three weeks ago, has become the 8th highest-grossing film of all time. In the US, it beat Avengers: Endgame for the biggest opening weekend in history, and worldwide it grossed $1.05 billion (£900k) in its first six days. It also holds a 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Holland's salary has levelled up significantly from his first solo Spider-Man movie, Homecoming (2017), for which he earned a modest $1.5 million (£1.1 million). His predecessors, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, reportedly earned up to $17.5 million (£12.9 million) for Spider-Man 2, according to the Daily Mail.
A year of personal and professional wins
Holland has also starred in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, which is the second highest-grossing film of 2026 with $1.3 billion, and married his co-star Zendaya. During a chat on the Dish from Waitrose podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, he admitted he has 'lied through his teeth' to promote movies he thought were terrible.
On Hot Ones, the chat show where guests eat increasingly spicy chicken wings, Holland made history as the first guest to vomit on camera, but he was beaming throughout and celebrated being the first. The newlyweds can now look forward to downtime before donning the spandex again.
