Thomas Frank will appear on Match of the Day for the first time this weekend. The Danish boss has swapped the sidelines for the TV studio after being announced as a new BBC pundit for the 2026/27 season.
With both Brentford and Tottenham in action on Saturday, the former Spurs manager will be given the perfect start as he's given the chance to offer insight on his former teams. Frank will be on hand to discuss gameweek four in the Premier League, marking his first time in the Match of the Day studio for the Premier League highlights show.
Former Teams in Action
Frank will be joined by Ashley Williams and Kelly Cates on the couch. The 52-year-old's first Premier League team, Brentford, will play first as they visit Bournemouth at 3pm on Saturday afternoon.
The Bees have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the campaign, beating Spurs on opening day and drawing with Leeds and Sunderland. On the other hand, the Lilywhites have struggled after losing to Brentford and Newcastle and earning a single point against Nottingham Forest.
Mixed Record in Management
Frank spent just seven months in charge of Spurs, replacing Ange Postecoglou in June 2025 and being sacked the following February. He won just 13 of his 38 games in charge, leaving the club languishing dangerously close to relegation upon his exit.
The Danish boss had a much more successful time in west London, managing a 41.6% win rate with the Bees. He secured 132 wins out of 317, earning plenty of plaudits for his time with the Premier League side.
Frank's Fond Memories
Speaking about his time at Brentford after joining Spurs, Frank said: "The nine years I spent at Brentford, almost seven as a head coach, Brentford Football Club, the fans, and especially the people that I work closely with have a special place in my heart.
"That's the longest time I've ever been in a club and we achieved incredible things together, so that is very, very special. First and foremost, I need to be extremely focused to go right instead of going left when I come out to the stadium."
Now, Frank has the chance to criticise - or praise - both of his former clubs on Match of the Day this weekend. Fans can tune into his debut on BBC One, which will come at 11pm on Saturday night.
