Strictly Come Dancing viewers were unhappy with the camera work during one couple's Movie Night performance, claiming the shaky footage spoiled the routine. Fans of the BBC contest watched as Graeme Hall swapped The Dogfather for The Godfather for one night only.
His efforts were interrupted by a slight camera issue, prompting technicians to quickly switch to another angle as Graeme and Lauren Oakley swept across the floor with The Godfather Waltz from the iconic film.
Viewers vent on social media
Rushing to X, formerly known as Twitter, viewers shared their frustration at the camera slip-up. One user fumed: "Shame the camera man spoiled it cause watching Graeme is always a joy #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing."
Another said: "Camera person having a mare at this Graham and Lauren dance #strictly." A third questioned: "Did someone bump into a camera then?"
Others joked it was linked to the film choice. "The camera shake during Graeme and Lauren’s Godfather number, was a horses head found in the control booth," quipped one user.
Judges praise the duo
Despite the complaints, the pair received high praise from the judges in the studio. "I loved it, the footwork was gorgeous," said Anton Du Beke. "You could be one of the best ballroom dancers we've ever had on Strictly Come Dancing."
The pair went on to receive an impressive score of 31. Craig Revel Horwood raised an 8 paddle, before Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas followed suit. Anton showed off a score of 7.
The scores at the time led the duo to top the leaderboard. Dani Dyer had kicked off the show, receiving a score of 23 following her dance to Beauty and the Beast.
Other highlights from the night
Dani received a standing ovation from her husband too, with Jarrod Bowen seen in the crowd to support the reality TV star during her foxtrot. Following on from last week's Samba efforts, Shirley Ballas told Dani: "You're right where you need to be. You showed promise... Spins, I agree with Motsi, you did very well this week. ... All in all, a good start."
Away from the dancing, Northern Irish YouTube star and content creator John Nellis announced he is to become a dad. In his VT before his performance with Katya Jones for a Titanic number, John said: "The hardest part of my job, and it genuinely breaks my heart, is the amount of time I spend away from family. I miss my wife more than you can imagine, and my son. And our family's growing. We're having another baby in February. I want a big family. I want big Christmases and big parties like I grew up with more than you can imagine."
