Shaun Wright-Phillips has been dealt a blow just days before the next Strictly Come Dancing live show, with bookmakers making him the 11-10 favourite to be the first contestant eliminated from this series.
The BBC show returns for its second live episode this weekend, where one star will be sent home during the pre-recorded Sunday night results show. Ahead of the action, much of the talk has focused on who might be next to leave.
Bookies' odds and fan reaction
According to Coral bookmakers, Sarah Storey is 7-4 to be voted off, while Melanie Walters is 5-1. At the other end of the market, Lacey Turner is currently favourite to win the show at 5-2, with John Nellis following closely behind at 3-1. Dani Dyer (5-1), Delta Goodrem (6-1) and Lawrence Robb (9-1) complete the top five.
Fans have been commenting on Shaun's potential exit, with one writing: "Yeah, I think it may be over, Shaun.... I was thinking he'd get a ballroom dance or American Smooth, but I guess not.." Another added: "Yeah, Shaun's going, another Latin after that Cha Cha Cha," while a third wrote: "It's curtains for Shaun." A fourth shared on social media: "I already know I'm putting all my votes on Shaun, I'm not ready to say bye to him yet :( I want his journey arc."
Last week's leaderboard
Last week, social media star John Nellis topped the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard on the first live show of the series. The football content creator and his partner Katya Jones wowed the judges with a foxtrot to Alex Warren's Ordinary.
The judging panel, made up of Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke, gave the couple 31 points. Anton said the routine was "extraordinary," while Craig said the dance was "classy, elegant and graceful." Motsi said she felt a little emotional watching the performance and that it was "the best dance of the night."
Following closely behind was Australian singer Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdrington, who scored 29 points for their Samba to Baiana by Barbatuques. "We've had a few sambas tonight and that was the best of the night," Anton said, with Craig adding of the routine: "Wow darling. You are one to watch. End of."
