Stars Join Simple Acts Of Silliness For Comic Relief 2026

Red Nose Day returns on Friday 20 March 2026, with a star-studded evening of comedy, sketches, and fundraising on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 7pm. The event, titled Comic Relief: Funny for Money, aims to raise vital funds for people in need of food, shelter, and safety in the UK and around the world.

Davina McCall will host the main show, joined by comedy heavyweights including Katherine Ryan, Nick Mohammed, Joel Dommett, and Catherine Tate as Nan from The Catherine Tate Show. The lineup also features exclusive sketches from popular BBC programmes.

One highlight is 'Amandas-land', a sketch based on the BBC comedy Amandaland, where Amanda (Lucy Punch) and Anne (Philippa Dunne) cause chaos at BBC Broadcasting House during a live radio interview with Sara Cox. They encounter a host of famous Amandas, including Amanda Holden, Amanda Lamb, Amanda Barrie, Amanda Byram, and Amanda Collier.

Another sketch, 'The Bank Job', sees Idris Elba reprise his role as DCI John Luther in a comedic heist. Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary lead a gang of celebrities—Chris McCausland, Stephen Mulhern, Shona McGarty, Niko Omilana, Gladiator's Sabre, and Natalie Cassidy—in a bid to raise money for charity.

For the first time, the show will be live-streamed on the official BBC YouTube channel. Audio description and signing will be available, making it the most accessible Red Nose Day yet.
