Sarah Ferguson is reportedly close to securing a seven-figure deal for an explosive autobiography, according to sources cited by The Sun. The news comes after Princess Diana's brother, Earl Spencer, made several allegations about other royals and King Charles in his own memoir.
Earl Spencer's Memoir Sparks Controversy
Earl Spencer's book, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, included claims that Charles said “we’ll forget her soon enough” after Diana's death, prompting a war of words between him and Buckingham Palace. In the memoir, Spencer also wrote that he had been “dreadfully hurt” by the “petty and vindictive” removal of her HRH title, rejecting what he described as a “consolation prize.”
He wrote: “I felt that I knew in my bones how she would view this posthumous award. That's very kind of the Queen, of course. But what's the point, Robert? Now? I mean – Diana's dead.”
Palace Response and Spencer's Defense
Buckingham Palace responded: “While we do not comment on books as a matter of principle, His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory in ways others do not recognise, even many years after such a loss.”
Despite the claims, Spencer insisted his book is a telling of the truth, not a “hit piece” against the monarch or the Royal Family. Speaking on the Lorraine show, he said: “This book is a celebration of an extraordinary woman from a brother’s point of view. And as a brother, I have every right to write about my sister. But I would like to explain that I was not setting out to do a hit piece on the King at all. The comments [from Charles] that I’ve included in the book are totally in context.”

Sources told The Sun that Ferguson is “days away” from making a deal, with a chapter-by-chapter synopsis already written. The notes reportedly include detailed accounts of “key subjects” such as her thoughts on ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Jeffrey Epstein, the King, Harry and Meghan.
Insiders say Ferguson is “on a mission” to rescue her reputation. One source said: “Sarah wants to set the record straight about everything and earn some money to resolve her financial issues. There has been a secret bidding war and a deal is close to being secured. The notes are compelling and the bidders are excited. Fergie is ever the optimist and believes she can be forgiven and welcomed back.”
