Richard E Grant has made a record-breaking £1.25million radio win on Classic FM's Cash Call, just days after his shock Traitor reveal on Celebrity Traitors.
The 69-year-old Saltburn actor presented the winning phone call to Andy from Essex at 5pm on Friday, telling the ceramic tiler he had won the biggest prize in UK radio history almost immediately, with no build-up or idle chit-chat.
Andy's stunned reaction
Andy was absolutely stunned by the news, and Richard made a tongue-in-cheek joke about his abrupt approach.
'I have a tendency to get to the punchline too quickly sometimes,' he said, before congratulating Andy.
Andy revealed that he and his wife, who is originally from Mauritius, would be using part of the money to visit family there next year, as the cost had previously meant the trip was unaffordable.
'We're going to have a big holiday! A family holiday. My wife is originally from Mauritius, we're thinking about going next year and visit some family. We couldn't afford that so it was just a dream really,' he told Richard.
He added: 'We were trying to go there one day, but hopefully that day has arrived.'
Traitors cliffhanger
Richard's time in Celebrity Traitors has been left hanging in the balance following the show's second episode. It ended on a huge cliffhanger during the first roundtable of the season, in which the contestants had a heated debate as to whether they actually believe Richard is a Traitor or not.
Despite trying to divert attention away from Richard, Maya Jama left fans shocked after she turned on Richard during the debate.
Speaking to Metro and other press, The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman opened up about choosing Richard as a Traitor and her reaction to his reveal to everyone else only minutes later.
'He was just so happy,' she said. 'He just couldn't believe it. And me, Sarah, and a whole brilliant gang, you go into a room after I've interviewed them all, and they say, "This is what I want to be."'
'You just couldn't not give it to him because he wanted it so much, and he was compelling, and he's Richard E Grant.'
She continued: 'I couldn't believe that he was actually in the castle. He was so giddy, and then the minute he said it, well, actually not the minute, about five minutes later, he went, "The genius of the game."'
'The game is everybody plays it completely differently, and he took that to the next level.'
Celebrity Traitors season two continues on Thursday, October 8, at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
