Red Arrows UK return: Full schedule of airshow displays

The Red Arrows have returned to the UK after their tour of the United States and are set to perform at a series of airshows and regattas across the country, beginning this August bank holiday weekend.

The Royal Air Force's aerobatic team came back from their US tour on August 16, having taken part in Operation Eagle Hawk to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. Their return was delayed after they were stranded in Goose Bay, on Canada's far-eastern coast, due to poor weather, which forced them to miss an appearance at the Lyme Regis RNLI Lifeboat Week.

Now back home, the team will fly in formation across the coast ahead of the English Riviera Airshow. The famous red, white, and blue trails will be seen at Clacton Airshow on Thursday and Friday, at Sidmouth Regatta and Airshow on Friday, and at Southport Airshow this weekend.

In a social media post, Wing Cdr Sasha Nash, the first woman to lead the Red Arrows, said: "It is great to be home and to now be in a position to perform at the rest of the summer events planned this season. The Red Arrows can't wait to display for aviation fans and families."

Display types and aircraft formation

The team recently completed a quick flypast in Sweden to celebrate the Swedish Air Force's centenary. In 2026, the Red Arrows are flying with seven aircraft, Reds 1 to 7, in aerobatic displays, while nine jets are used for selected flypasts. Reds 1 to 5 form the front section, known as "Enid" after the Famous Five author Enid Blyton, and the rear pair, called "Hanna" after team founder Ray Hanna, are the popular "Synchro Pair" who perform opposition manoeuvres.

At each event, the team leader can choose one of three display types — full, rolling, or flat — depending on cloud conditions. Clear skies or cloud coverage above 5,500ft allow a full looping display, while on cloudy days the team may perform a rolling display, substituting loops for wing-overs, or a flat display of flypasts and steep turns if clouds are below 2,500ft.
