Visit to Ilminster

The Prince of Wales visited Ilminster on Tuesday, where he met with residents and businesses to help launch a new initiative that will aid local communities in preparing for emergencies and extreme events. The visit took place as Somerset was struck by wildfires during the summer and also faced extreme flooding last winter.

It's reported people were waiting from as early as 9am to catch a glimpse of the Prince in Ilminster. During his visit, William was also seen with former EastEnders actor Ross Kemp, who is an ambassador of the National Emergencies Trust. The trust worked to launch the Ready Together initiative in Ilminster. Ross and the Prince of Wales, who is the trust's patron, chatted about the initiative and also met with local schoolchildren, discussing survival.
