Former Wimbledon champion Pat Cash, 61, has announced his engagement to Charlotte Hodson, a professional singer and massage therapist, describing her as his "soulmate." The Australian tennis icon shared the news on social media, attributing their meeting to a remarkable series of coincidences.
Cash wrote: "Every now and then, life can surprise you in the very best way. I’m so incredibly lucky to know that through an amazing string of coincidences, I found my soulmate. I can’t help but believe God had it all planned to perfection. She said yes."
Who Is Charlotte Hodson?
Hodson, 54, works as a massage therapist for 8 Elements Massage in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. She is also the lead singer of Chocolate Charlie, a band that has appeared on The Pat Cash Experience, a live show combining tennis and music. The couple made their first public appearance together in the Royal Box at Wimbledon.
In 2025, Cash expressed uncertainty about marriage but was clear about his feelings for Hodson. He told The Mirror: "I don’t know if we'll go down the marriage route, but she's the love of my life, that's for sure. It’s taken me all these years to find the woman of my dreams. Not that the other women weren’t fantastic, but she’s very special."
Cash's Love Life
Cash has four children from previous relationships—three sons and a daughter—and two grandchildren, with the first born when he was 45. He had two children, Daniel and Mia, in his early 20s with Norwegian model Anne-Britt Kristiansen, whom he met in Houston in 1985. They maintained a long-distance relationship through letters and phone calls.
Reflecting on that relationship in 2013, Cash told The Sydney Morning Herald: "We were just young people finding our way and raising a child together. Anne-Britt certainly cracked the whip on me. Mum always cleaned up after me, then all of a sudden I have this girlfriend who says, ‘I’m not doing any of that, forget about it.’ I was a hands-on dad."
After splitting with Kristiansen in 1989, Cash began dating Emily Bendit, a maitre'd at a London nightclub. The couple married and had twin boys, Shannon and Jett. They separated in 2002 after 12 years of marriage. When asked by The Mail in 2007 about his most damaging money move, Cash said: "Easy. Getting divorced!"
Living the West London Life
Cash moved to England nearly 40 years ago, the same year he won Wimbledon. In 1987, he bought a semi-detached home on his mother's advice, but sold it after his divorce from Bendit. He said: "I still live in the area. I have fond memories of that house - there were some tough times, but there were plenty of good ones, too."
He now lives in a flat in west London, which he calls his "haven." His home displays expensive guitars, family pictures, and a bottle of wine gifted by Iron Maiden.
