Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse has announced that she is expecting her second child with her husband, Marius Iepure. The 35-year-old dancer, who already has an 18-month-old daughter whose name she has kept private, shared the news on social media on Thursday, June 11.
Social Media Announcement
Oti posted on Instagram: "Plot twist. We thought we had our hands full already, but life had even bigger plans. Baby No. 2 is joining the dance party, and our hearts (and house) are about to get a whole lot fuller."
Celebrity Congratulations
Numerous celebrities rushed to congratulate Oti, including several former Strictly colleagues. Her sister Motsi Mabuse, who currently judges on the BBC programme, wrote: "We love you, congratulations, the bigger the better." Karen Hauer, who recently left Strictly, posted: "Congratulations guys," while Gorka Marquez added: "AMAZING NEWS GUYS." Love Island champion Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, who appeared on Dancing on Ice when Oti was a judge, commented: "Congratulations Angel." Other well-wishers included Emmerdale's Lisa Riley and Coronation Street's Alan Halsall.
Career and Family Plans
Oti built a successful career on ITV with roles on Loose Women and I'm A Celebrity... after leaving Strictly in 2020. She previously expressed a desire for more children, telling The Times in 2024: "I'd like as many as I can afford." She added: "What I have been through shocked me, but it made me even stronger. For the first time in my life I have a purpose, which is for my family to have a good life."
Previous Birth Details
Oti had previously revealed on Giovanna Fletcher's Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast that she and her husband kept the birth of their first child secret for nine weeks. She explained that her daughter was born prematurely, saying: "She was very premature, she came really, really early - unexpected premature which was a big, big shock." The family spent six weeks in hospital before bringing the baby home over Christmas.
