Nicole Scherzinger suffered burns and blisters after boiling water fell on her leg just an hour before she was due on stage with the Pussycat Dolls in Germany. The 48-year-old singer shared a photo of her burnt skin on her Instagram Story, writing: 'Nothing like boiling water falling on your leg an hour before your set'. She added: 'The show must go on.'
Show goes ahead in Düsseldorf
Despite the injury, Scherzinger performed with high energy, later sharing fans' clips of the show on her Story. She thanked the audience, writing: 'Thanks Düsseldorf for keeping me going. See you soon Amsterdam.'
The Pussycat Dolls, now a trio with Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt, are on their PCD Forever tour in Europe. The tour began in California on June 6 at WeHo Pride Festival and followed the band's comeback in March with their single Club Song, their first in six years.
North American dates cancelled
The group had originally scheduled 33 North American dates, but with venues reportedly 80% empty weeks before opening night, sales were described as 'alarmingly low' in June. On May 4, the band announced they would cancel all but one of their North American dates, reducing the tour to 22 shows.
In a statement, they said: 'When we announced the PCD FOREVER Tour, we hoped to bring the show to fans across the world. After taking an honest look at the North American run, we've made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North America dates.' They confirmed UK and European dates would proceed, calling the response 'incredible', with 'several shows already sold out'.
Former members speak out
Original members Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta, and Melody Thornton did not return for the reunion. Sutta said she was 'blindsided', claiming she tried to 'reach out privately for several months' but received no response until 'the night before the announcement'. She later called the reunion a 'cash grab' on The Maverick Approach podcast.
Bachar voiced her 'disappointment', telling The Mirror: 'It was definitely disappointing not having direct communication. I chose to stay focused on my own growth, my new music and protecting my peace.'
The Pussycat Dolls will begin their UK shows in Birmingham, continuing through October in cities including Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, and London, before concluding the tour in Brazil on October 30.
