New mum's OK! Beauty Box advent calendar review: £605 for £98

A first-time mum has reviewed the OK! Beauty Box Advent Calendar by Hannah Martin, revealing it contains £507 worth of freebies. The calendar, which retails at £109 but drops to £98 with discount code ADVENT2026, holds 25 beauty products with a total value of over £605.

What's inside the calendar

Of the 25 products, handpicked by A-list makeup artist Hannah Martin, 22 are full-size. Brands include Bobbi Brown, Rodial, bareMinerals, Hello Sunday, Kosas and Prai. The most expensive single item is a Rodial Bee Venom Eye Cream, worth £145 at full price – more than the calendar's own cost.

The review noted the presentation is "absolutely gorgeous," with pinks, burgundy, red and gold that "complement each other beautifully." The drawers are described as "generously spacious." Every purchase automatically enters customers into a prize draw to win a private virtual masterclass with Hannah Martin.

Personal favourites and minor disappointments

The reviewer praised the mix of full-sized products and minis, saying it gives shoppers the chance to road-test items before committing to a full purchase. She was particularly thrilled to see Rodial products, including the full-size Bee Venom Eye Cream, which she had been "itching to try" but held back due to premium price tags.

Other highlights included the Rodial Glass Powder (worth £38), the MUA Makeup Academy Blushed Liquid Cream Blusher, Arkive's Decorated Woods Eau de Parfum, and Gatineau Paris Collagene Expert Hydra Essence. The only disappointments were the Nail Kind Polish and Blink Brow Bar Blind and Go Lashes, which she said were down to personal taste.

Customer reviews and availability

Since the calendar hasn't yet been dispatched to pre-order customers, there are currently no customer reviews. However, the Rodial Bee Venom Firming Eye Cream has already won over beauty enthusiasts. One shopper said: "I saw a different after the first couple of uses, amazing at reducing dark circles, puffiness, fine lines and even relieves tired/tight feeling eyes! Expensive but worth it!"

Another wrote: "Now on my second pot which I now know will last for ages so that's how I justify the price. Find it really works to reduce dark circles and fine lines and it isn't greasy like some eye creams I've tried in the past." A third customer noted: "This is a lovely cream, really plumps my fine eye wrinkles. I'm not sure about it's long term effectiveness, but it's good for an immediate boost. Goes on nicely and sits well under make up. On the expensive side."

The calendar launched officially on October 1 and is expected to sell out quickly, as in previous years. The reviewer encourages anyone keen to snap one up to order as quickly as possible.
