Molly-Mae Hague has told fans she is "ready to stop at two" children, speaking about the birth of her second child, a baby boy named Midas, with partner Tommy Fury. The 27-year-old Love Island star and the boxer are already parents to three-year-old daughter Bambi.
Molly-Mae Announces Birth of Second Child
The Maebe clothing brand founder announced the arrival of her son earlier this month with a social media post captioned "...and then there were 4". The family revealed the name Midas during Tommy Fury's fight against Eddie Hall last weekend.
In a recent YouTube vlog, Molly-Mae opened up about her birth experience and the special reason behind the name. She captioned the video: "Hey guys… joining you today as a mummy of TWO!!! I still can’t believe it really. I just feel so blessed I’ve been able to bring two beautiful, healthy children into this world."
Struggling to Process Having a Boy
In the video, Molly-Mae admitted she struggled to process that she had given birth to a son. She said: "I've had a long time to process that I am a boy mum. In my head I've always been the epitome of a girl mum, and I've adored being a girl mum so much. I still keep forgetting he's a boy."
Despite her initial surprise, she expressed joy at giving Bambi a sibling and confirmed she does not plan to have more children. She stated: "I'm 99.9% sure that I only want to have two children. So as much as it would have been amazing to give Bambi a sister, I just feel like I'm ready to stop at two. So the fact that we were blessed with a boy and we have a son, we couldn't be luckier and I couldn't be happier."
The Story Behind the Name Midas
Molly-Mae explained the origin of her son's name, Midas Thomas Fury, addressing comments about its mythological associations. She said: "We had this name for a boy for quite a few years and I saw a couple of comments about the name. It originates from Greek mythology because there was a king called King Midas and I believe the story is everything he touches turns to gold. I do absolutely love that saying."
She clarified that the name was not directly inspired by King Midas, comparing it to how Bambi is not named after the Disney character. Instead, she revealed the name came from the 2011 film Real Steel starring Hugh Jackman. She said: "I actually found the name from watching a film called Real Steel. It's basically like Transformers, it's the most like not me film ever. It's actually such a great film it's got Hugh Jackman in it. It's a film about robots boxing. One of the robots in the film is called Midas, and I thought it was a really cool strong name I'd never heard of before. I thought Midas Fury, what a strong name. I mentioned it to Tommy and he absolutely fell in love with it. That was always our boy name really."
