Meghan Markle's best friend has revealed how people in the UK have responded to the duchess when seeing her out and about since her return to Britain. Kelly McKee Zajfen, one of Meghan's closest friends, visited the family this month and shared her observations on Instagram.
Last month, Meghan and Prince Harry relocated back to Britain with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The move marks the first time they have called Britain home since 2020, when they stepped down from royal duties and moved to America.
Friend's Instagram post highlights warm reception
While the family have only been back in the UK for a short time, they have already had visitors from the US come to see them in their new home, including Kelly McKee Zajfen. She shared photographs of Meghan with her baby Jack, as well as photographs of Prince Harry and Princess Lilibet with Jack.
Kelly captioned her UK post with a lengthy caption, in which she revealed how members of the public have been reacting to seeing Meghan back on British soil. She wrote on Instagram: "To everyone we've met or bumped into, thank you for being so loving to my friend. It's been beautiful to witness. She missed you too!"
No public appearances since return
This suggests that Meghan has been well-received by locals wherever she is now living. It remains private where Harry and Meghan, and their children, are living, but the duchess has been seen out and about in the British countryside, including on drives, walks, and trips to pubs with fellow A-listers.
This is a good sign for Meghan, who has not always been adored by the British public. The duchess had criticised both Britain and the Royal Family after moving to America, making some members of the British public hostile towards her.
She has yet to make an official public appearance since returning to Britain, with her husband, Harry, attending events alone so far. This included the 2026 Wellchild Awards earlier this week.
