Meghan Markle faced fierce criticism from fans after her lifestyle brand As Ever shared her “top hosting tips” on Instagram. The Duchess of Sussex, who relocated to the UK at the end of August, was featured in a post titled “Meghan’s Hosting Notes”, which offered advice for entertaining guests.
The tips included having “as much prepped as possible before guests arrive” and saving one “simple task for the end”. The post suggested the final task should be: “Something you can finish in the kitchen while everyone settles in.” It added: “A little preparation goes a long way toward making hosting feel effortless.”
Fans react with mockery
The advice was accompanied by a picture of Meghan tying a white apron around her waist. However, many social media users were unimpressed and took to X to mock the duchess.
One user wrote: “She needs to stop pretending she can cook. She's got no cooking skills whatsoever....she should take some Miralax [laxative] and let that s*** go.” Another added: “This woman is insufferable. Full stop.”
