McDonald's has rolled out a fresh batch of menu additions this week, giving customers plenty of new options to try. While some of the latest launches have been met with excitement, one particular item has sparked a heated debate online, with fans split over whether it's going to be delicious or a step too far.
Yesterday, Tuesday, July 14, the fast-food chain launched new sauces, burgers, breakfast items, and the return of two fan-favourite desserts.
What to expect from the new menu
The food chain has introduced Korean BBQ and Ranch sauces. For 70p per pot, these sauces are the perfect pair for nuggets, fries or burgers.
Fans of the Big Arch with Bacon will be excited to learn that it will return to menus for £11.49, but this is only for a limited time.
If you love McFlurries, then you're in for a treat, as the Cornetto Classico McFlurry and Cornetto Strawberry McFlurry have returned for the first time in 17 years, with both available for £2.59.
The Hot Honey range divides opinion
But the biggest talking point is the new Hot Honey range. McDonald's has launched a Hot Honey dipping sauce for 70p, alongside the new Hot Honey McCrispy (£9.39), the Hot Honey Sausage & Egg McMuffin (£6.09) and the Hot Honey Double Sausage & Egg McMuffin (£6.79).
Customers can also add Hot Honey to Mozzarella Dippers, which cost £3.09 and are available with any of the new dips. However, the strangest combination has to be the Hot Honey Mini McFlurry for £2.09, inspired by a flavour combination created by one of McDonald's crew members.
Speaking on the latest McFlurry, a spokesperson for the restaurant said: "A new flavour hack discovered by one of our crew members - available only on the App via collection or McDelivery! This is a dessert dream come true for the experimenting personalities!"
"Meet the Hot Honey Mini McFlurry - creamy soft dairy ice cream served with a sweet Hot Honey Dip. It's the ultimate unexpected pairing for those who love a DIY moment as served separately. This way, you can add as little or as much as you like, depending on your taste buds. Grab your phone, head to the McDonald's App, and treat yourself to this playful mashup made in dessert heaven!"
Fans react to the new menu
Content creator @bigdaddybsfoods was one of the first to upload their ratings for the new menu. Beginning the video, he tried the hot honey McFlurry and had only a few words for it: "I usually love the sweet and spicy combo, but this didn't really work, six out of ten."
Fans of the TikToker took to his comments to react to this new creation. One person said: "So sick of hot honey being everywhere." Another added: "Hot honey was meant to stay in 2025." While a third commented: "This hot honey pandemic needs to end now."
However, some people defended the sauce. One said: "Hot honey is a massive fad, but I do love it." A second person shared: "Hot Honey McFlurry would slap," meaning it would be really good.
