Manchester United have added winger Isaac Konde to their academy ranks from Liverpool, while pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged the club to pursue two Manchester City stars should their rivals face relegation.
The teenager's arrival comes during the international break, with the transfer window closed. Konde, 16, has signed a scholarship agreement and will reportedly be handed professional terms when he turns 17 in October. The Athletic reports Liverpool are pursuing millions in compensation, meaning the deal is not completely finalised.
A club statement read: "Manchester United have agreed the signing of winger Isaac Konde. The talented youngster has joined after leaving Liverpool." The statement added: "The 16-year-old had his first taste of Under-18 football at Liverpool, featuring regularly towards the end of the 2025/26 campaign. Everyone at the club would like to welcome Isaac to United and wish him the very best of luck."
United urged to sign City duo
Gabriel Agbonlahor has suggested Carrick could target local rivals Manchester City in the wake of recent events. The football world continues to react to news that City are set to be found guilty on 114 of their 115 charges relating to Premier League financial breaches.
No announcement has been made regarding City's punishment or potential appeal. However, a significant player exodus is anticipated at the Etihad should their sanction prove severe enough to result in potential relegation.
Speaking on talkSPORT when asked which players United ought to target from their fierce rivals, Agbonlahor said: "[Gianluigi] Donnarumma – I have been watching [Senne] Lammens. Poor at the World Cup, cost Belgium in that game, and I think he has not been great this season. Look at the own goal – Lisandro Martinez against Fulham. He has got to be better with that save. I am not convinced in him."
He continued: "I will say Donnarumma to Manchester United. Manchester United will go and nick their number one goalkeeper." He added: "Elliot Anderson – Manchester United wanted you, now you go there. Manchester United – you wanted Elliot Anderson, go and get him for maybe half the price."
Konde joins from Liverpool
