Elizabeth Hurley turned heads in a plunging purple sequin gown as she arrived at the 14th annual Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, held at Camden's Roundhouse on Wednesday. The 60-year-old actress and model was joined by her son Damian before being honoured with the Honorary Gay Award for her long-standing allyship to the LGBTQ+ community.
Accepting the award from presenter Anna Richardson, Hurley said: 'Thank you very much indeed – this is so fetching. It's such a huge honour, and I would like to dedicate this beautiful award to all my beautiful gay friends, because you have quite simply made my life better.' She added: 'You have stuck by me through thick and thin, and even when I've been at my absolute lowest ebb, it has always been you who've come in like the cavalry and stood by my side.'
Other winners included Dannii Minogue, who received the Ally Award in a sweeping pink gown, and Russell Tovey, named Man of the Year. Tovey delivered a powerful speech, calling for unity and warning of 'catastrophically damaging and hostile government rhetoric'. He urged the audience to 'look around and say, 'I got you, I'm here for you, and we've got this''.
The evening, hosted by Jamie Laing and Mika, featured performances from Scissor Sisters, Pam Ann, and Calum Scott. Among the attendees were Edward Enninful, Denise Welch, and Russell T Davies, who offered a glimpse into his next project, Tip Toe, starring Alan Cumming and David Morrissey. Davies described the series as 'very funny, very savage too, a really tough piece of work'.
Other honourees included Luke Evans, Campbell Addy, Gok Wan, Tom Allen, Dominic Skinner, and Tiara Skye. The Williams family accepted the Inspiration Award on behalf of late drag icon The Vivienne.
