Currys has revealed the winners of its second annual Tech of the Year Awards, with Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy and Sonos among the top products chosen by a panel of four experts.
The awards span 14 categories covering computing, cooking, entertainment and wearable tech, with the focus on products that deliver for the customer. The judging panel is led by TV presenter and former Gadget Show host Ortis Deley.
Brits overwhelmed by tech choice
The announcement comes as new research from Currys shows many Brits struggle to keep up with rapid technological change. Seven in ten admit struggling to keep up with how fast technology is changing, while 69% say there is simply too much choice.
The research also found that 24% have pretended to understand a tech term when they had no idea what it meant, and 28% have nodded along to an explanation despite being baffled. Meanwhile, 21% say they have opted for a more expensive product because they assumed it must be better, and 14% have bought something simply to get the decision over with.
Judges' verdicts on top tech
Ortis Deley said: "There's more brilliant tech out there than ever before, but that doesn't necessarily make choosing what to buy any easier. When you're faced with endless models, features and specs, it can be difficult to separate what you really need from what simply sounds impressive. With the Currys Tech of the Year Awards, we've done the homework, assessed the latest innovations and picked out the tech that really delivers."

Category winners announced
Best AI Assistant went to Google Gemini, with judges praising its powerful multimodal capabilities, huge context window and seamless Google Workspace integration. Best Mobile AI Feature was awarded to Google Pixel's Voice Translate, described as a breakthrough use of AI that enables natural, real-time conversations across languages with on-device processing and voice matching.
Microsoft's Copilot+ PC won Best Computing AI Feature for bringing AI into the heart of the PC, while Samsung's AI Motion Enhancer Pro took Best Entertainment AI Feature for intelligent motion processing. Samsung's AI Wash won Best Kitchen AI Feature for tailoring water, detergent and cycle settings to each load.
Meta's Hands-Free AI won Best Connected Home & Wearables AI Feature. Best Mobile Feature went to Samsung Galaxy's Privacy Display, and ASUS Zenbook DUO took Best Computing Feature for its dual 14" 3K OLED touchscreens. LG's RGB Primary Color Pro won Best Entertainment Feature, Ninja's Creamify won Best Kitchen Feature, and Sonos Multi Room Audio won Best Connected Home & Wearables Feature.
The Accessibility Award went to Neff's Slide&Hide Retractable Oven Door. Google Pixel's Voice Translate was named AI Feature of the Year, and Samsung Galaxy's Privacy Display was named Feature of the Year.
