Nashville Cluck: Liverpool takeaway named North West's best by Uber Eats
Liverpool's Nashville Cluck named North West's best takeaway

Nashville Cluck, a Liverpool-based chicken burger brand, has been named the North West's best takeaway by Uber Eats. The platform also previously said the brand sells more burgers than McDonald's.

The brand first opened in Liverpool's Georgian Quarter in October 2022, aiming to create the "perfect" chicken burger. Since then, it has expanded across Merseyside, with locations including the Baltic Market, Townfield Lane in Wirral, and Concert Square. Its most recent opening came last year on Duke Street.

Lunch deal review

The lunch deal consists of a buttermilk burger, chips, and two mac and cheese croquettes. Adding a drink brings the total to £13.99, though the drink is optional. The meal is substantial and leaves no need to order extra food afterwards.

Orders from Nashville Cluck have arrived in around 20 minutes from different parts of Liverpool city centre. The burger comes generously smothered in a choice of sauce, with the mild Cajun mayonnaise providing a creamy, slightly spiced kick without overpowering the chicken. The meat-to-batter ratio is spot on, with the chicken having a satisfying crunch on the outside.

The chips are fairly straightforward but come seasoned, giving them more character than standard portions. The mac and cheese croquettes stand out as the real highlight, with a crunchy exterior and soft centre.

National competition

Nashville Cluck now hopes to impress judges at the Uber Eats competition in London. The team will compete in a two-day live cook-off, with the overall UK title up for grabs. As part of reaching this stage, the brand, alongside the other regional champions, will receive £5,000 and a bespoke Uber Eats UK growth package.

Khalid Yafai, director at Nashville Cluck, said: "We're really proud to be this year's North West regional winner. It's been four years since we launched Nashville Cluck, and we've always focused on making our food different and unique. We're looking forward to September and showing the judges what authentic Nashville buttermilk chicken is all about."
