Glasgow is the biggest city in Scotland by both land and area population and is known in Gaelic as Glaschu, meaning the 'dear green place' or 'green glen'. Home to about one third of Scotland's entire population, there are countless reasons why people want to stay in Glasgow.
Landmarks, Food and Famous Scots
The city is home to very famous landmarks as well as recognisable TV and film locations and popular food dishes that may have been first invented there. Additionally, many famous Scots hail from Glasgow, and the city has an extensive list of slang words which are part of its own official lingo.

Those who want to test their general Scottish knowledge instead can take a separate Scottish citizenship test, though there is no official Scottish citizenship test required to become an official Scot.
