Tommy Barton, of Blyth, died peacefully in hospital on 7th September 2026, aged 93. He was a much-loved dad of Pamela and Garry, and grandad of Matis and Nathan. A funeral service will be held at Cowpen Crematorium on Friday 2nd October at 1pm.
John Bell, of North Shields, passed away peacefully on 15th September 2026 at North Tyneside General Hospital, aged 77. Special thanks were given to the Palliative care unit. Christine Boothroyd, formerly of Crawcrook and Heaton, died peacefully with her family close by on 21st September 2026, aged 79. She was the beloved wife of the late John Boothroyd, a loving mam of John, Paul and Iain, and a much-loved grandma. John Stafford Bramwell, known as Staff, of Felling, passed away peacefully in his sleep on 16th September 2026, aged 88, after a long illness. He was a dearest husband of Jean, loving dad of Gail and Diane, and devoted grandad. George Browell, of Catchgate, passed away peacefully on 8th September, aged 79. He was a loving husband, devoted father, treasured grandfather, and much-loved brother and friend. George Bulman died peacefully on 15th September 2026, aged 91. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret Rose, much-loved dad of Keith and Deborah, and loving grandad. Michael Cain, known as Mick, of Wallsend, died on 13th September, aged 93. James Henderson Stewart, known as Jim, passed away peacefully at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd on Sunday 20th September 2026, aged 97. Memoriams and Acknowledgements
In memoriams, tributes were paid to Andy Blanch, of Newbiggin Hall, who died on September 25th 2024, aged 90, and to Maureen Carey, of Melrose, marking 17 years since her passing. Margaret Davenport, of West Pelton, was remembered by her husband David. Irene Marie O'Neill was remembered on the second anniversary of her death, and Rob Richardson was remembered by his family. Joan Young was remembered one year after her passing.
Birthday memoriams were published for Carole Brown, Terry Jacobsen, Frederick Smith, Malcolm Thompson, and Ruby Thompson, who was remembered on her 99th birthday.
An acknowledgement was published for the family of the late Jimmy Pearson, thanking relatives and friends for their support, and noting that £250 was raised for Blyth Valley Disabled Forum.
