World Cup fans were left scrambling for the identity of a mystery woman after the lady in red stole the show during Switzerland's win over Colombia in the Round of 16 on Tuesday evening at BC Place in Vancouver, Canada. The match ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, with Switzerland winning 4-2 on penalties.
Social Media Frenzy Over Mystery Fan
When camera operators picked out a stunning Swiss fan in the crowd, many at home suddenly sat up and took notice. Some went further, taking to social media to demand the identity of the unknown beauty captivating audiences with her aura.
"Who is that Swiss fan. OMG," one fan shared on X. A second said: "That Swiss fan with the amazing hair… oh my god she was stunning!" "When I saw her, I started rooting for Switzerland, to be honest," a third joked. Another added: "How much is the Swiss flight price??"
Identity Revealed: Eva Ndoye
Her identity was soon revealed when one fan responded: "'A Switzerland fan' then it's the sister of one of Switzerland's best players but oh well..." The stunner in question is Eva Ndoye, who was in Canada supporting her brother Dan Ndoye, the 25-year-old winger who plays for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Eva shared some snaps from the game on her TikTok account, showing off her now iconic hair and gorgeous looks while wearing her brother's shirt. One post, from their clash with Bosnia, has more than 15,000 likes as fans joked in the comments they saw her on TV. Another post showed her "warming up for the quarter-finals" as fans flocked to the comments: "I think I saw you on the telly," and, "I saw you on TV and loved your curls!"
Eva confirmed it was her, sharing a clip of the moment on her Instagram story.
Dan Ndoye's World Cup Performance
Ndoye's strong performance for Switzerland was praised as they reached their first quarter-finals in a World Cup since 1954. Swiss media hailed the Forest ace who "got stronger as the game went on." He has had an excellent World Cup to date, starting in four out of five games, and netted in the 2-0 victory against Algeria last week.
Football fans will be able to catch a glimpse of Eva again over the weekend as she will hope to be her nation's lucky charm against Argentina. Lionel Messi and Co produced a borderline miracle to come from two goals down against Egypt in a whirlwind final 15 minutes. The defending champions and Switzerland will now meet in Kansas with the winner facing either England or Norway.
