Every Lindt Lindor flavour ranked: Milk Coconut tops list

A comprehensive taste test of 23 Lindt Lindor flavours has crowned Milk Coconut as the personal favourite of one chocolate lover, with Marc de Champagne ranked last.

Christopher Megrath, a life reporter for the Liverpool Echo, visited the Lindt store at Liverpool ONE to sample the full range of flavours available. The ranking was inspired by research revealing the top ten Lindt Lindor flavours nationally, including the viral trend declared best in the North.

Regional favourites and personal loyalties

According to the research, shoppers across Scotland, Wales and the South West favour Lindor Strawberries & Cream, while the Midlands is the only region to crown Lindor Milk & White as its top choice. The North and South East both declared Lindor Pistachio their favourite.

Megrath admitted to remaining loyal to the classic Milk Chocolate, occasionally dabbling in Raspberry & Cream. He was allowed to pick out whatever flavours he wanted from the Liverpool ONE shop for the taste test.

The full ranking from least to most preferred

The ranking places Marc de Champagne at number 23, described as sharp, acidic, and filled with a floral perfume. Nuxor comes in at 22, a hefty block of milk chocolate with hazelnut, while Golden Caramel with Hazelnut takes 21st place with a more pleasant texture.

The 70% Cocoa flavour is ranked 20th, praised as one of the best dark chocolates on the high street, especially with coffee. Nocciolatte takes 19th, with a mousse-like centre and a woody flavour profile. Hazelnut Avellana is 18th, with a deep and earthy taste, and Popcorn is 17th, featuring small salty popcorn pieces that taste almost like toasted marshmallow.

Mid-table flavours and top contenders

Double Chocolate is ranked 16th, with a dark chocolate filling and milk shell. Milk & White sits at 15th, described as a milk shell with white chocolate innards. Caramel is 14th, with a delicious truffle that is not too sweet. Matcha is 13th, with a flavour that could be mistaken for plain white chocolate without the label.

70% Dark Mint takes 12th, with a mint cream that envelopes the mouth. Blood Orange is 11th, with an immensely sharp citrus flavour. Stracciatella is 10th, a white chocolate ball with cookie crunches, and Fioretto Cappuccino is 9th, a half-sphere shell with biscuit bites and a dense truffle filling with subtle coffee notes.

Top five and the surprising winner

Salted Caramel is ranked 8th, with a sprinkling that adds complexity. White chocolate takes 7th, described as one of the best white chocolates on the market. Sakura is 6th, a rosy and softer experience with a white chocolate shell and pink truffle innards. Irish Cream is 5th, with a subtle, milky coffee flavour that is surprisingly moreish.

Raspberries & Cream is 4th, with a strong, delicious flavour profile that is super sweet, creamy, and fruity. Pistachio is 3rd, living up to the hype as the North's favourite. Strawberries & Cream is 2nd, with a powerful punch of light and floral flavours. Milk Coconut takes the top spot, described as light, creamy, and not overpowering, like coconut milk in a chocolate cup.

Megrath admitted surprise that Milk Coconut came out on top, noting that he could eat that flavour by the bag. He added that all the flavours were tasty except Marc de Champagne, and that the ranking simply reflects personal preference from least to most preferred.
