Emmerdale has confirmed that Sadie King, played by Patsy Kensit, will leave the show, with the actress filming until December. Producer Sophie Roper has teased an explosive climax to her storyline.
Big denouement teased
Speaking to Inside Soap, Roper said: 'As for how that story concludes, we are building to the end point and a big denouement for that character. Sadie's momentum, and the impact she's going to have on our villagers, is only going to grow. There will be some incredible, exciting twists and turns, and a lot of unexpected revelations.'
Roper praised the return, saying: 'Sadie has been a phenomenal return to the show.'
Plot to destroy Caleb and Ruby
Sadie has been lying about a relationship with ex-husband Jimmy King, hurting his wife Nicola. Her real motive is financial, as she searches for Jimmy's missing £150k.
Joe Tate recruits Sadie to spy on Caleb Miligan and his wife Ruby, but Sadie plans to seduce Caleb instead. Roper noted: 'Sadie King is a force to be reckoned with, but Caleb and Ruby are one of Emmerdale's most powerful couples, they have been through so much together and have only got stronger. Joe recruiting Sadie does, however, create a dangerous dynamic, and viewers will hopefully be shouting at their screens to warn Caleb of the dangers that lie ahead.'
Cain's warning dismissed
Cain Dingle warns his brother Caleb about Sadie, but Caleb dismisses his concerns. Roper also highlighted a scene where Sadie revealed she was pregnant with Cain's baby and miscarried, calling it 'real truth' and 'a more genuine side to her'.
