Disney Confirms Cheetah Girls Reboot—Fans 'Sobbing'

Disney Plus has officially confirmed that a reboot of the beloved Cheetah Girls franchise is in production, sending fans into a frenzy of excitement. The new film, titled The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen, has received the green light and will feature both returning original cast members and a fresh wave of young talent.

What We Know About 'The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen'

The original trilogy began in 2003 with The Cheetah Girls, following four teenage best friends—Galleria (Raven-Symoné), Chanel (Adrienne Bailon), Dorinda (Sabrina Bryan), and Aqua (Kiely Williams)—as they navigated high school, friendship, and the music industry. The franchise's popularity led to two sequels in 2006 and 2008. Now, nearly two decades later, a new chapter is set to debut.

According to Disney Plus, the plot picks up when Cheetah Girls Galleria and Chanel, along with Galleria's daughter Faith and her three friends, travel to Africa to volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary. The synopsis states: "Along the way, these four teen girls test their friendship, find their voice, and discover the true Cheetah spirit as they save the preserve and ultimately take the stage as the new Cheetah Girls."
