Dianne Buswell has been seen wiping away tears as she watched the moment she gave birth to her son almost three months ago. The Strictly Come Dancing star, known for her professional dance career, shared the emotional experience with fans in her latest YouTube vlog.
A special moment revisited
In the vlog, released on Sunday, June 7, Dianne asked to watch her birth video for the first time since her son Bowden, nicknamed Bowie, was born 11 weeks earlier. The footage was captured by her partner, YouTuber Joe Sugg, who met Dianne on the hit BBC One dance show.
“I am going to watch when I gave birth to little Bowie,” Dianne said to the camera. “Joe’s got it on his laptop, and I’ve not seen it yet. So, I don’t know how I feel about this. I don’t know. I was just saying on our walk, I still can’t comprehend that this little dude was once in my tummy. It just blows my mind and just how much he’s grown since that moment and his little personality now. I can’t wait to watch it.”
Preparing for the viewing
Speaking to Joe, she asked: “My god, is it going to freak me out?” He then double-checked she was happy to watch, asking: “Do you want to see it?” to which his partner replied “I do really want to see it. I’ve wanted to see it for a while now.” She added: “Oh my gosh, I’m so nervous. Can’t believe that after 11 weeks I’ve still not seen this.”
The couple, who made it to the final of the 2018 series of Strictly, revealed their pregnancy joy to delighted fans back in September, before Dianne took part in Strictly’s 2025 series. They then announced they had welcomed their baby boy on March 16, naming him Bowden.
Emotional reactions
Dianne was then seen watching the footage in amazement, with some of the audio from the video revealing Joe’s emotional reaction to his son’s arrival. “Well done. You did it,” he is heard telling Dianne. As Joe joins her to watch, he wiped tears from his eyes as he commented: “Makes me cry every time.” Dianne then shared: “That’s crazy. I want to watch that bit just one more time. Gosh, it brings … I mean, it wasn’t that long ago.”
Thinking back to Bowie’s arrival, she commented: “I remember being so thirsty. Do you remember how thirsty I was? And they thought I was going to be sick and I was like I don’t feel … I didn’t feel sick in the slightest.” She added: “I just was so thirsty. I just wanted to drink … I was like … I remember when I was being operated on I just kept saying, ‘I could drink a river!’” Dianne concluded that part of her vlog: “It was such a magical experience.”
Life as a family of three
Since Bowden’s arrival, both Dianne and Joe have been seen sharing updates on their new life as a family of three, with fans gushing over their every move with their baby boy. The professional dancer has been seen enjoying her baby bubble after she and her partner welcomed their first child into the world.
