Delta Goodrem is set to appear on The Voice UK tonight, Saturday, October 17, despite having to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing this weekend due to injury. The singer will join Kelly Rowland as a guest mentor during the episode, which will see Team Kelly and Team Tom and Danny take centre stage.
McFly Bandmates Join as Guest Mentors
Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher will be joined by their McFly bandmates Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd as they decide who to take through to the semi-final in a bid to win for a second year in a row. The Australian songstress and Strictly Come Dancing 2026 contestant Delta Goodrem will offer advice to coach Kelly Rowland, helping her pick the three acts to take through to the next stage of the competition.
Rib Injury Forces Strictly Withdrawal
The Eclipse singer has been forced to pull out of Strictly this weekend due to picking up an injury during training. Confirming her disappointing news, Delta told fans earlier this week: "I'm absolutely gutted that a rib injury means I won’t be able to dance on Strictly this week."
"I've been loving every second of this experience, so having to sit this one out is heartbreaking - especially after the high of Saturday night. I cannot tell you how much I love being a part of this magical show."
"I'm going to focus on resting and recovering, and hopefully I'll be back on that dancefloor very soon. Thank you so much to everyone for all the love and support. It's so appreciated. I’ll be cheering everyone on from the sidelines this week! Sending all my love, Delta xx"
First UK Appearance After Nine Seasons in Australia
Delta will help Kelly pick the three acts to take through to the next stage of the competition in pre-recorded scenes. The Australian songstress is well-known for coaching on The Voice Australia for nine seasons, but this marks her first appearance on the UK version.
Last Saturday, October 10, Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am picked the three acts they'd like to take through to the semi-final last weekend with help from guest mentors Paloma Faith and Cheryl. In a cutaway, former Popstars contestant Cheryl told the camera: "I have stood in the shoes the contestants are standing in, I know what it feels like to perform in this environment. You just got to know that you're good, or you wouldn't be here."
Fan Reactions and Cheryl's Full-Time Coaching Role
Fans wasted no time in commenting on Cheryl's appearance, with many flocking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to voice their opinions. One person wrote: "Only reason I've been watching this season.. good to have him back on our screens #Cheryl." Another posted: "My favourite person is back on Saturday night TV. It's like 2010 again @CherylOfficial" while a further viewer added: "seeing Cheryl back on the TV warms my heart SO much!!! #TheVoiceUK."
The Call My Name singer's appearance on the ITV programme follows the recent announcement that she'll be joining The Voice as a full-time coach in the 2027 series alongside rapper Aitch, as they take over from Sir Tom Jones, Danny Jones, and Tom Fletcher. The Voice UK continues Saturday, October 17 at 8.35pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
