Dan Neil delivered a man-of-the-match performance and a captain's display as Rangers secured their place in the Premier Sports Cup semi-finals with a 3-0 win over Celtic.
The two-goal hero broke the deadlock before adding a stunning third on his Old Firm debut. The former Sunderland star, standing in as skipper for the crocked Lawrence Shankland, has transformed opinion after a shaky start at Ibrox, and Derek McInnes' side will now face Aberdeen in the last four.
Celebrations kept in check
While Rangers fans celebrated at full-time, Neil was already thinking about what comes next at Hampden Park. As he led his teammates on a lap of honour, he was clearly at pains to keep the celebrations in check.
Goalscorers Kevin Kelsy and Bojan Miovski were spotted dancing around before Neil sharply turned and gestured for them to calm down. In a video shared by a Rangers fan on social media, the dressing room leader can clearly be seen ordering his teammates to rein it in - with silverware still to be won.
Tribute to the fans
The playmaker, who netted two screamers, was equally keen to pay tribute to the Rangers support for raising the roof at Ibrox.
He told RangersTV: "The fans had a massive influence from coming into the ground to the warm-up, from the first whistle to the absolute last.
"I think you could see the intensity from the lads getting that off the atmosphere. Everyone was still running around looking for another goal really at the end and making sure we kept a clean sheet when the game was pretty much done.
"I think that's a massive testament for the fans for keeping us going and a big credit to the lads for keeping going."
