The Guardian has published corrections and clarifications for errors that appeared in recent articles. The corrections address a misquoted name, an incorrect date, and a wrong figure in a report on housing.

Name Correction

In an article about a local election, the name of a candidate was incorrectly given as "John Smith". The correct name is "Jonathan Smith". We apologise for the error.

Date Correction

An article about a scientific study incorrectly stated that the research was published on 12 August. The correct publication date is 14 August.

Figure Correction

A report on housing statistics contained an incorrect figure for the number of new homes built in the last quarter. The correct figure is 45,000, not 54,000 as originally stated.

These corrections have been made to the online versions of the articles. The Guardian regrets the errors.
