Jeremy Clarkson sparked backlash after taking a dig at Stacey Solomon following his win at the National Television Awards. Clarkson's Farm won the Factual Entertainment award, beating Solomon's two shows, Sort Your Life Out and Stacey & Joe.
In the winners' room, Clarkson said: 'It's great that a farming show can beat a house cleaning show,' in an apparent reference to Sort Your Life Out. He also claimed during his acceptance speech that his team 'worked way harder than anyone else in this room'.
Earlier, Solomon had criticised the NTAs for placing both her shows in the same category, calling it 'absolutely ludicrous'. She expressed gratitude for the nominations but noted the oddity of competing against herself.
This is not the first time Solomon has spoken out about awards. Earlier this year, she expressed devastation after losing the BAFTA for Factual Entertainment, saying she was 'gutted' for her team.
