This Morning presenter Cat Deeley was visibly moved during a touching segment on the ITV show, as celebrity chef Jamie Oliver surprised a dedicated school cook with a prestigious award.
Emotional Surprise
Phyllis, a school cook with 45 years of experience, was enjoying breakfast at a restaurant when Jamie Oliver walked in with a bouquet of flowers. She had no idea she was about to be honored. Jamie announced that she was the winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award in his Good School Food Awards.
“Oh my God!” Phyllis exclaimed, holding her hands to her face in shock. Jamie explained that she would be taken to the ITV studio to meet hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley.
Celebrating a Lifetime of Service
Jamie highlighted Phyllis’s incredible contributions, noting that she had cooked over a million meals for 10,000 children over 45 years. “She is an example of what an incredible lunch lady looks like,” he said.
As Phyllis became emotional, Jamie remarked, “I love the tears, but they are tears of 45 years of very hard work.” He then led her to the studio, asking for a round of applause.
Back on the sofa, Cat Deeley admitted she was also tearing up. “I’m tearing up as well!” she confessed.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
