The BBC has confirmed when Casualty's 40th anniversary episodes will air. The explosive instalments will focus on an explosion that unfolds at neighbouring hospital St James.
As Holby is thrown into complete chaos, paramedics head over and are forced to search through the rubble for bodies at the devastated hospital. Also at the scene of the incident is Flynn Byron (Olly Rix), who witnesses the explosion while on a run.
With Flynn busy across town, it's up to Dylan Keogh (William Beck) to lead the team at Holby ED through the chaos. Usually calm and in control, Dylan faces a massive challenge when he experiences a personal tragedy right in the middle of trying to help the casualties.
When will the anniversary episodes air?
The two anniversary episodes will air on BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday, September 5. The first one will be broadcast at 8pm, followed by the concluding part of the story at 8:50pm.

Whatever happens to Flynn in the instalments, he will end up with Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) at some point, as they are caught in a situation that forces them both to fight to survive.
During the first teaser trailer released a couple of weeks ago, there was a brief shot at the end of what appears to be an ambulance underwater. It increases the chance that paramedic favourites Jan Jennings (Di Botcher), Iain Dean (Michael Stevenson), Jacob Masters (Charles Venn), Teddy Gowan (Milo Clarke) and Indie Jankowski (Naomi Wakszlak) are going to get caught up in some life-threatening danger.
Elsewhere in Casualty news, it was revealed recently that Kirsty Mitchell and Sammy Dobson are both leaving their roles as Faith Cadogan and Nicole Piper.
