All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has announced the death of British wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known as Pac, at the age of 40, just one day after his final match. Satterley, a native of Newcastle upon Tyne, enjoyed a two-decade-long career in wrestling, signing with AEW in 2019 after a stint in the WWE as Adrian Neville.
His death was announced early on Monday morning (September 28) UK time. A spokesperson said: “All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac.
A career spanning two decades
“A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability.
“Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans.”
Fans pay tribute
Satterley performed in the WWE from 2012 to 2018 before making the switch to AEW, becoming one of its veterans known for his gritty performances. Tributes have poured in under the statement, posted to Instagram. One fan said: “Heartbreaking thank you for all the memories for over a decade.”
Another added: “Rest in Peace PAC, watched you since the NXT days. My condolences”. A third remarked: “No way! Pac ruled, I just watched him fight last night! RIP!”
Final match and aftermath
Satterley appeared in his final match in Chicago on Saturday evening against the AEW national champion Andrade. He lost, shook hands with his opponent, and appeared in another face-off later in the night, according to reports.
No cause of death has been given for Satterley’s passing. The AEW mourned another wrestler, Andy "The Butcher" Williams, who died from a heart attack earlier in September.
