The Blackpool 80s Weekender will return to the Winter Gardens on Friday, September 10 and Saturday, September 11, 2027, following the success of its first event, which drew thousands of fans to the seaside town. The weekend will feature live music, DJs and 80s entertainment.

Headline acts and venues

Next year's edition will include performances from some of the biggest names of the decade, with headline shows in the Empress Ballroom and further performances in the Arena. The weekend will also feature an 80s-themed quiz, after-show parties and additional events in the Pavilion, with more details to be announced.

The line-up includes Marc Almond, new wave legend, Tom Bailey of Thompson Twins, synth-pop pioneers Heaven 17, post-punk favourites Altered Images, pop stars The Fizz, China Crisis, and soulful singer Jaki Graham, with more acts still to be announced.

Promoter's response

Joff Hall, concert promoter at Senbla Ltd, said: "The first Blackpool 80s Weekender was a huge success, and we’re delighted to be returning in 2027."

"The Winter Gardens was packed with fans in full 80s dress from the moment the doors opened, and the atmosphere was fantastic. It was a great weekend for both the artists and fans, with plenty happening across the venue alongside the main performances."

"We can’t wait to be back in Blackpool in 2027, first with our Indie Weekender in May and then with an even bigger 80s Weekender in September, as we continue to establish the town as a home for great weekends of live music."

Previous event highlights

Headlining the 2026 event was ABC, known for their synth-pop hits, alongside Kim Wilde, whose distinctive vocals helped shape some of the biggest songs of the 1980s. Also on the line-up was Haircut 100, celebrated for their new wave classics, and pop duo Go West. Completing the 80s roster was Liverpool's The Christians, Toyah, and Hue and Cry.
