Katherine Heigl's beloved 2008 romantic comedy 27 Dresses will air on BBC Three tonight at 10pm. Fans have described the film as the 'last great rom-com that was made' and the 'perfect film for date night'.
A star-studded cast and crew
Heigl stars alongside James Marsden, with Edward Burns, Malin Akerman, Judy Greer, Melora Hardin, and Krysten Ritter in supporting roles. Anne Fletcher directed from a screenplay by Aline Brosh McKenna.
The story was conceived after the success of The Devil Wears Prada (2006), also written by McKenna. Filming took place in Rhode Island and New York City between May and July 2007.

The film explores the 'always a bridesmaid, never the bride' trope. 27 Dresses grossed $162.7 million globally against a budget of $30 million. It won the People's Choice for Favourite Comedy Movie and the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie: Chick Flick.
